Privacy overview
JLA3D is responsible for the personal information you provide through this website. If you have a question about privacy or your information, contact us through the site administrator.
This notice explains what information we collect, why we use it, who may process it for us, how long it is kept and the choices available to you. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
Information we use
Quote requests
When you request a quote, we collect the contact details, project details, service choices and optional reference files you provide. We use this information to assess your request, reply to you, prepare a quote and manage any resulting customer relationship. This is normally needed to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or for JLA3D’s legitimate interest in running and responding to business enquiries.
Reference files are sent with your quote email. The website keeps only their file names, types and sizes in the private quote manager; it does not keep copies of the uploaded files after they have been delivered.
Optional website analytics
If you allow analytics cookies, the site creates a random visitor identifier and records daily, pseudonymous counts of site visits and listing interest. JLA3D does not store IP addresses, create advertising profiles or use third-party analytics services.
Orders and fulfilment
When you buy directly from JLA3D, we collect the contact, delivery and order information needed to take payment through PayPal, provide a digital download or fulfil and support a physical order. Payment card details are handled by PayPal rather than stored by this website. We keep an order record, payment reference, fulfilment history and essential correspondence to perform the contract, prevent fraud and meet our legal record-keeping duties.
Service providers and external links
Website and email hosting providers process information only as needed to operate the site and deliver messages. Links to configured marketplaces and social services take you to third-party services; their privacy notices apply once you leave JLA3D.
Customer accounts, reviews and messages
Creating an account is optional. If you create one, we store your name, email address, password hash, verified sign-in records and the links to qualifying orders so that you can view purchases, leave verified reviews and continue messages with JLA3D. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, not readable passwords.
Reviews are available only to verified buyers. A review can include a rating, written feedback and optional images. Reviews are checked before publication. Published reviews show only the display name you provide in the form of a first name and surname initial; your email address and private order details are never published.
Messages started from account, quote, product or order areas are held in one private conversation for the verified account. Messages and attachments are used to answer your request, provide support and keep an accurate service history. Attachments are stored in protected private storage and are available only through authorised account or administrator access.
You should not include special-category personal data, payment-card information, passwords or confidential third-party material in reviews or messages unless it is genuinely necessary for the request.
How long we keep information
- Open quote requests
- Kept while JLA3D needs the information to respond to and manage your enquiry.
- Closed quote requests
- Automatically removed from the private website quote manager after 180 days from their last update. Related emails and attachments are managed separately in JLA3D’s mailbox.
- Optional analytics records
- Daily pseudonymous analytics records are automatically removed after 90 days.
- Direct-sale and payment records
- Kept for at least the period needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention and legal claims. For a UK sole trader this will normally mean at least five years after the relevant Self Assessment deadline; some records may need to be retained longer where a legal obligation or claim applies.
- Customer accounts, reviews and messages
- Kept while the account or customer relationship remains active and then normally reviewed for deletion or anonymisation after 24 months of inactivity. We may retain limited audit, order and payment information for longer where it is necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Cookie choices
- Your analytics choice is remembered for up to 180 days. The optional visitor identifier is kept for up to 90 days unless you reject analytics sooner.
We may keep information for longer where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, comply with a legal obligation, or resolve a specific issue. We review retention settings periodically.
Your choices and rights
You can ask JLA3D about the information held about you, request correction or deletion where applicable, or object to certain uses. To make a request, contact the site administrator and include enough detail for us to identify the relevant enquiry.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Optional Google and PayPal sign-in
When these optional sign-in methods are available and you deliberately choose one, Google or PayPal shows its own sign-in and consent screens. Those providers are responsible for their own services and privacy notices; JLA3D receives only the basic identity information needed to create, sign in to or safely link your customer account.
Information we receive
Google may provide a provider account identifier, a verified email address and basic profile information such as your name. We use Google only for OpenID identity, email and profile information; we do not request access to Google Drive, mail, contacts or other unrelated Google data.
PayPal may provide a provider account identifier, a verified email address, basic profile information such as your name, and confirmation that the PayPal account is verified. We use that information only for customer-account sign-in or linking. Sign-in does not give JLA3D your PayPal password or payment-card details.
How we use and keep it
We use the information to create an optional customer account, sign you in, or link a provider identity to the customer account you have already verified. A provider identity is linked to an existing account only when its verified email address matches that account. We keep the provider identifier and account-link record while the customer account remains active, subject to the retention approach described below.
Choosing social sign-in is optional. You can continue to use email-and-password or email-link sign-in instead. A PayPal payment approval on its own does not create or link a customer account, and using Google or PayPal sign-in is not consent to marketing.
